Nutty Overnight Oats & Fruit
½ cup old-fashioned oats
½ cup 1% or 2% milk
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon flaxseeds
1 teaspoon chia seeds
1 teaspoon honey or agave syrup
2 tablespoons chopped fresh fruit (peaches, strawberries, or bananas are good choices)
1 tablespoon chopped walnuts or almonds (optional)
- Put the oats in a mason jar, then follow with the milk, cinnamon, flaxseeds, chia, and honey. top with the fresh fruit and walnuts, if desired.
- Refrigerate overnight or for at least 4 hours. Serve cold, or heat in the microwave for 1½ minutes if you prefer warm oatmeal.
